The Main Event Speaker Series, a popular author series featuring prominent voices from the worlds of literature, the arts, politics and journalism, resumes with writer George Saunders Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. in the Main Library auditorium in downtown Akron.
The Akron-Summit County Public Library has reached an agreement with the City of Akron concerning parking for Main Library customers. Effective Monday, February 13, 2017, Main Library customers can once again have one free hour of parking in the High/Market parking deck.
One year ago I wrote a letter for ShelfLife listing our library’s intentions for 2016. We had made ten promises to voters in passing our property tax levy in May 2015, and we planned to begin the work to keep those promises in 2016. As the following indicates, in our first year of additional funding we have completed eight of those promises (√ ), with a ninth in progress. The tenth will be pursued in 2017-18.
